CTG is currently seeking a Tableau Developer for a financial industry client. Cleveland is the preferred location for the candidate but manager is open to remote workers.

This senior-level Tableau Developer will be responsible for ensuring high quality deliverables while reporting up risks that may affect customer satisfaction, budget, and/or schedule. The developer will be expected to adapt quickly in this fast-paced, agile environment, and must be able to work well in a team environment and build strong customer relationships. May be required to take on various roles as necessary to achieve project/team success. May require up to 50% travel as needed.

No Corp to Corp - W2 only.


  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline

  • And/or 8 years of BI Development experience

  • Extensive experience in Tableau Desktop and preferably Tableau Server

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated hands-on Tableau development experience

  • In-depth knowledge of visualization best practices

  • Proficient in all aspects of the software development life cycle and agile development

  • Deep understanding of data warehouse and data mart concepts. Able to create tables and views

  • Design and maintain Tableau Data Sources and Applications following best practices and efficiency requirements

  • Identify and raise issues and risks immediately and suggest resolutions

  • Create & maintain documentation and technical specifications

  • Participate in periodic reviews with team(s)

  • Ensure high performance solutions. Able to performance tune Tableau Data Source and Applications

  • Ensure highest quality deliverables by unit testing, identifying discrepancies and devising solutions

  • Ability to guide/train the Business Partners on Tableau questions

  • Ability to identify common user questions and create appropriate How-To documentation for Knowledgebase

  • Review requirements and identify the right tool per the requirements

  • Provide operational support as needed

  • Work closely with the business to understand and document requirements, identify ambiguities, illustrate the issue(s), and collaborate on a resolution

  • Customer focused - Able to work and communicate with a wide variety of business partners

  • Able to design Tableau solutions with little direction

  • Knowledge of Tableau administration

  • Willingness to learn new skill sets and roles that would help drive the team and/or firm toward their goals and objectives

  • Master SQL skills and ability to troubleshoot

  • DBMS familiarity with Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase

  • Familiarity with Hadoop/BigInsights


  • Consulting/pre-sales experience

  • HTML and JavaScript experience

  • Hadoop (IBM Big Insights/Big SQL)

  • Qualified Associate or Certified Professional Tableau 9 or higher

  • Knowledge of Banking Industry

  • IBM Cognos (Reports Studio, Framework Manager, Dynamic Cubes)
