Duration: 12+ months

Location: Brooklyn, OH

Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.

  • Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.

  • Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.

  • Designs details of automated systems.

  • May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems.

  • May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

  • Note: May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.

  • May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand their needs; translates into functional specifications, design documents, data requirements and other required documentation

  • Creates current and future state business process diagrams if required

  • Performs gap and impact analysis; documents results and works with team to facilitate next steps -Participates in technical design discussions and supports from BA perspective

  • Works closely with project manager, architects, developers, support team, information security consultants, testers and end users to ensure that developed functionality meets requirements

  • Partners with testing teams across the Line of Business and Technology to ensure appropriate test coverage and traceability; actively participates in defect triage and remediation

  • Participates in production implementation and functional validation

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Must have a working knowledge of relational databases.

  • Experience with all phases of the SDLC including requirements, design, testing and production implementation; must be comfortable running requirements gathering sessions and producing related deliverables e.g. functional design document, non functional requirements, data mapping, effort sizing, etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across both Line of Business and Technology teams

  • Relevant technology concepts: ASP, ETL, data migration, data conversion or relational databases

  • Relevant business intelligence concepts: reporting, querying or spreadsheets

  • Flexible team player; ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment
