CTG is seeking an experiencedSoftware Engineer for a contract to direct hire opportunityproviding support for global e-commerce cloud software applications at aFortune 50 end client in Bentonville, Arkansas.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with Java and Cloud Applications experience who is able to troubleshoot complex software support issues. The individual will be responsible for engaging with a group of experienced technical professionals that will support retail operations embedded at the client’s location. The Software Engineer willassist customers in troubleshooting problems, diagnose issues with software installation and application, identify sources of the problem, and offer solutions.The candidate needs strong Java programming, analytical skills, problem determination and debugging skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication skills. The Software Engineer will also need to communicate at different technical levels, from the application architects to the end user. Though this role does not include new application development work, a software engineering background is required in order to understand how to solve any issue the customer may be having with their applications or devices.

  • Location: Bentonville, Arkansas

  • Duration: 6 month Contract to Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Solve complex production, business critical, software application problems in a demanding enterprise Retail environment

  • Assist customers in troubleshooting problems, diagnose issues with software installation and application, identify sources of the problem, and offer solutions.

  • Write and present documentation

  • Able to work on a fast-paced support team

  • Client facing professionalism and skills

  • Carry a Call-out Cell or Pager on a rotating basis, every 8-10 weeks

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Strong Problem Determination skills with the ability to examine logs, extracts, and dumps from applications and point of sale devices

  • Experience supporting large enterprise systems

  • 2-3 years of experience working with trouble tickets or familiarity with a helpdesk / customer support environment.

  • 2-3 years of experience in Software application development, specifically cloud applications

  • 2-3 years of experience with Scripting languages

  • Strong understanding of networking

  • Understanding of Databases, Reporting and Analytics

  • 2-3 years of Java application development

  • 2-3 years of experience with Linux and Windows

  • Carry a call out cell / pager every 8 to 10 weeks on a rotation basis

  • Experience supporting a production Cloud based solution
