CTG's premier global client located in Baytown, TX (77520) has an immediate need for a PCT Automation Systems Analyst.
The PCT Automation MES Network Analyst is a leader of reliable and efficient PCT systems, oversees improvement projects and ensures that best work practices and proper state-of-the-art technologies are reviewed and considered for the Baytown site. He/she has many external contacts for technical advances and new developments in systems, programming and network architecture.
MES stands for Manufacturing Execution System. However, within this organization, the term is also used to refer to the MES Network, which equates to the DMZ zone between OT & IT. For this job, we are mainly referring to someone who will work with networking, firewalls and backup of systems in this MES Network layer
Successful individual needs to meet the high expectations towards PCT systems as to significantly improve the profitability of the client’s processes by increasing safety, reliability and efficiency. He/she will closely cooperate with Production, PCT, and IT to identify improvement potential, prepare and justify projects, and lead and oversee approved improvement projects.
The PCT Automation MES Analyst must have experience in a wide-range of disciplines in order to properly manage and merge heterogeneous technologies to meet business objectives in the most efficient method available. These disciplines include control system field operations, control optimization, MES applications, and OT networks.
The PCT Automation MES Analyst must be able to manage all types of systems, which requires supporting many different operating systems and applications. The PCT Automation MES Analyst should play a key role in the launch of best practices in the realm of APC, automation, alarm management, and controller performance management.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify, develop and implement systems optimization opportunities within the PCT and MES layers for PCT systems (including interface with IT) and take a support role in coordinating PCT systems improvements
Support the Cybersecurity practices and ensures compliance with corporate standards
Management of Front and Back Area Firewall Rules
Manage MES operating system patching and antivirus
Support strategic and capital projects involving PCT systems
Work closely together with Production, IT and PCT engineers to optimize system architecture and applications
Provide local technical support as needed for all MES and PCT systems and networks
Aide the development of the PCT Specialists role and mentor less experienced PCT engineers
Executes backups of OT Systems (MES, DCS, PLC)
Systems include DeltaV, HIMA, PI Data Historian, Rockwell PLCs, and Alarm Management and Controller Performance tools
Education Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Networking or related degree with 5 years’ experience (AS with significant experience in the field of networking, security, etc.)
Industrial Control System evaluation, design, and implementation experience
Familiar with Cybersecurity practices
Management of OT Network (or networks)
Management of front and back firewall rules
Management of MES operating system patching & antivirus (or general systems)
Backups of OT systems (MES, DCS, PLC) (or general systems)
Automation implementation best practices
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Able to work well in both team and autonomous environments
Ability to influence others with technological advances that support business objectives
Compensation: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour, W-2, negotiable based on experience
Duration: 6 months, extendable
Shift Start: First
Drug Testing: Hair follicle and urine drug testing will be conducted prior to hire and may include random testing once placed on assignment
