CTG is currently searching for a C Programmer / Network Programmer to join our Fortune 100 client’s Technical Support Team in North Austin near The Domain. As a member of the Technical Support team, job responsibilities include the demonstration of exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) to clients and client management, timely updates for client situations, ability to effectively manage multiple complex situations, and deep technical product knowledge. This will be a long term and ongoing W2 contract position and our client prefers local candidates.
Project Duration: Ongoing, Long-Term, Multiple Year W2 Contract
Project Location: North Austin, TX (Near The Domain)
The skills required for this position span communication skills, situation management skills, and technical abilities. Willingness and eagerness to learn in-depth adapter code and work directly with clients and development teams to solve problems.
The communication and technical skills required for this position include, but are not limited to:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous complex situations
Ability to listen to clients and understand both situational and technical issues
Ability to create well written client facing documentation
Technical and working background with the following are required:
C and UNIX Shell Script Programming
AIX (or UNIX) operating system
TCP/IP network stack, TCP/IP handshakes and packet flow
Network devices such as network routers, network switches, network adapters
AIX (or UNIX) networking
Working knowledge of common tools (netstat, network traces) for debugging network situations
Additional consideration for existing knowledge of IP Security (IP)
Additional consideration for existing knowledge of IBM support tools and processes
