CTG's premier client, a Fortune 500 global supplier of paints, coatings, specialty materials, has an immediate contract opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator for a 1 Year assignment in Allison Park, PA
Position Title: Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
Duration: 1 Year Contract with possibility to be extended
Location: Onsite in Allison Park, PA
Shift: 8 am- 4:30 pm
Requirements: Hair follicle drug testing and other employment related inquiries may be conducted.
The EHS Coordinator works for the site Environmental Health and Safety Manager to organize and plan environmental health and safety programs to ensure a positive and safe work environment. Areas of specialty for this position will focus on EHS training management and delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule and train personnel in safe work practices and policies; serve as site coordinator for EHS training, including the training of new hires and lab associates.
Identify, further develop and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
Organize and manage training reports and rosters, training compliance matrices and schedules; assist the site EHS Manager in updating training content and materials, as needed.
Assist site Hazardous Waste Technician in managing site hazardous waste programs, including acting as the primary backup for all waste management duties.
Responsible for being the primary contract lead for the Laboratory Coat/Uniform contract; coordinate purchasing activities for safety shoes and other aspects of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program
Serve as solvent delivery technician
Know and apply occupational safety and environmental regulations and identify problems and suggest remedies.
Support safety and environmental related projects and compliance initiatives, as assigned.
Core Competencies & Skills:
Prefer candidates with experience in laboratory, research and development, university, or academic environments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable in delivering classroom-style training in large or small group settings.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
General knowledge and application of safety, health and environmental topics. Experience with OSHA, DOT, EPA and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations & standards is a plus
Experience in handling and managing hazardous waste.
Intermediate computer skills (e.g. MS Office including Excel and Word) are essential. Excellent written and verbal skills
Willingness to support other sites in the Pittsburgh region.
Education & Training:
At least 1 to 2 years safety training experience, preferable in a laboratory, research or academic setting
OSHA 10/30 hour and RCRA training courses a plus; hazardous waste certifications a plus
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 2 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience..
