CTG is working with our direct client for a Senior Application Software Engineer (DevOps). Our client is a large publicly traded company and a multi-line managed care enterprise that serves as a major intermediary for both government-sponsored and privately insured health care programs.

Location: Albany, NY or Buffalo, NY

Start Date: ASAP

Salary range: $85K to $105K plus full benefits

Job Description:

  • Design, build, test and maintain scalable automations and interfaces. Act as a subject matter expert for software delivery. Expand and extend the capabilities of third party systems to best meet user needs. Leverage knowledge and experience to increase the reliability of custom and third party systems.

  • Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business need and technical improvements.

  • Design and implement process automations to increase efficiencies for both technology delivery and clinical systems delivery.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop complete solutions.

  • Work in an agile environment.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality.

  • Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business need and architectural improvements

  • Meet with business partners to understand business needs

  • Responsible for overall design of the solution

  • Design, build and test applications

  • Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of related experience.

  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred, requires demonstrated understanding of business process as it relates to experience in the field.

  • Strong working knowledge of PL/SQL or T-SQL, UNIX shell scripting

  • UNIX shell scripting or Perl scripting experience a plus.

  • Facets or other claims management system experience a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of C#/.Net.

  • Experience with Oracle.

  • Experience with web services, messaging, and stored procedures

Preferred Experience:

  • Batch Processing / Batch Systems

  • UI Development Including Windows Forms development

  • Test Driven Development
