Rate: $30-40 per hour depending on experience
Semiconductor Engineering Technician
Fortune 50 client has a need for a skilled, good communicator, self-motivated engineering technician.
This position is for an engineering technician role in the 300mm wafer R&D microchip fabricator. In this role, the expectation is to serve as tool and process technician eventually during night shift (at least partially) for tools and unit processes primarily in optical lithography, but also reactive ion etch, wets surface preparation and cleaning, and other areas of semiconductor processes.
The primary responsibilities involve daily engagement with the engineering team to discuss issues/challenges, provide feedback and receive directions, with a goal to resolve tool/process issues, ensure tools/processes are within specifications, ensure work-in-progress is moving, checking and setting up statistical process controls and monitor routes as needed, executing and driving continuous improvement activities and experiments and tests, assisting as needed in new tool installation and upgrades, contributing to documentation and procedures for the operation of process equipment, and driving efforts to troubleshoot equipment and processes that are failing specifications, etc.
It also involves developing and maintaining close engagement w/ other teams in the organization/ecosystem, especially the fab operations teams, unit process development, integration, equipment engineering, industrial engineering, etc. , and also w/ the tool supplier field service engineers and applications support teams from the suppliers.
Overall, in this role the engineering technician will be playing a hand-on, in-fab role to support and provide feedback to the engineering team with respect to coordinating various teams and activities that are focused on ensuring that unit processes and equipment needed to support our unique R&D activities are available and at the expected levels of quality.
Job Duty 1 - Daily engagement with the engineering team to discuss issues/challenges, provide feedback and receive directions
Job Duty 2 – Working with various teams daily to understand, troubleshoot, and drive any tool/process issues to resolution
Job Duty 3 – Daily monitoring of tool/process performance and working on maintaining appropriate coverage of monitoring systems
Job Duty 4 – Daily interaction w/ the operations team, the supplier teams, equipment eng. teams, and any other teams that support operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality of tools and processes.
Semiconductor lab/fab experience and cleanroom experience required, 1 year
Experience in semiconductor processes in general is preferred, especially in optical lithography, reactive ion etch and wets surface preparation and cleans, 1 year
Candidates must be able to work in a multi-matrixed environment and maintain communications across various shifts
Strong verbal and written communication skills required, as well as an engaging and proactive approach
