CTG is seeking to fill anIT Admin and Application Help Desk Supportopening for our Fortune 100 client inAlbany, New York.

Project Location:Albany, NY

Project Duration:24 months

Team member will support IT infrastructure for the company at the Albany location. Knowledge of various scripting tools, like bash, Perl, Python, and others are required. Strong background in deskside support and system deployment/migration experience is required. Position is onsite full time.

Description:

Position is a mix of IT Administration and coverage along with workstation support for the company research team for company specific applications. Responsibilities include supporting and planning new workstations for the research team and installation of unique software packages. Ability to set up site specific software and system images and troubleshoot any issues for employees and partners as needed. Position is part of team that handles response to IT tickets to support both personal workstations and servers/data systems supporting the CSR operations. Position requires strong Windows and Linux skills along with ability to assist with Hardware install/config and debug. The site has many systems installed that are critical to the 24x7 fab operations, position requires ability to help support critical systems down and bring back systems to ensure optimal uptime and accurate data transfer and collection.

Duties:

  • Build and deploy new PCs to Albany team with Albany unique applications: requires strong Windows skills, IT security knowledge and asset management background

  • Troubleshoot various IT issues for Albany team, by responding to tickets: hardware issues, software and other tasks as needed. Work directly with users and ensure strong customer satisfaction for all IT Help desk clients.

  • Provide support to Senior IT team as needed for new server and data system installation and bring up and other IT projects as requested.

  • Rotating weekend and off-shift coverage for Fab critical systems and urgent ticket resolution.

Skills Required:

  • Windows Skills, Linux background, System deployment experience (min 3 years), Asset management experience, System imaging experience, Asset management, IT security. Ability to install/config/debug servers and end user PCs. Strong computer science background with ability to debug existing systems and applications. Java, Python, Unix, Linux, Solaris / Oracle. Windows and System Deployment. Scripting tools: bash, Perl, Python, etc.

Education requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree and at least 5 years experiences working in an IT support role.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group is required.
