CTG is seeking to fill aData-Sys Business Analyst Iopening for our client inAlbany, New York.
Location: Albany, NY
Duration: 3 months
The Data/Systems Business Analyst I functions as the liaison between the Developer and internal/external clients reviewing, analyzing, evaluating and documenting the technical component of data or systems business requirements for data/systems enhancements or new client implementations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists in the review, analysis and evaluation of data/systems business requirements for system modifications or data file enhancements; drafts functional specifications.
May also assist in the implementation of new clients and services.
Leverages data profiling tools and reports to draw information from large data sets.
Work with developers on project development and communication of issues.
Documents test cases, testing of development and assists clients in user acceptance testing.
Provides regular status reports to clients, developers, and management as needed.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, fluently in English.
Ability to develop relationships both in person and over the phone.
Ability to be careful and thorough about detail.
Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. Preferred experience in Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, SQL, and Visio.
Familiarity with TSO, File-Aid, and reviewing Flat files.
Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to work independently as a member of various teams and committees.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Some business travel required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Knowledge and/or certifications in software development methodologies such as Scrum desired, but not required
1+ years related work experience, industry experience preferred
Proficient SQL knowledge and working knowledge of relational database systems preferred
