Microwave Design Engineer

CTG is currently seeking a Microwave Design Engineer to support our client located in Yorktown Heights, NY. The client anticipates the possibility of up to two years duration supporting this project if the project continues to be funded throughout.

Our Client is seeking a highly self-motivated and creative individual with experience in microwave design and modeling. This position involves supporting a large R&D group on projects involving non-linear superconducting circuits and supporting hardware in the DC – 10 GHz range.

Prior experience in superconducting circuits is not expected, however a thorough understanding and intuition of electromagnetism and microwaves are required.

Job Duties:

  • Simulate novel passive microwave structures and ultra-high quality resonators, optimizing for reduced parasitic resonances.

  • Design and model low noise amplifiers and matching networks.

  • Design and simulate microwave launch structures.


  • BS in Electrical Engineering / Physics

  • 5 years microwave/RF engineering

  • Experience with HFSS, ADS or similar applications

  • Fluent in English


  • Masters in Electrical Engineering / Physics

  • 8 years microwave/RF engineering

  • 5 years modeling in HFSS

Other Skills Desired:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
