Project Location: Wilmington, NC

Job Title: Inventory Control & Equipment Technician

Work Hours: Anticipated work hours for this role is Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM with overtime as needed.


A. Manage all aspects of project component inventory and disbursal as needed.

B. Supervise and provide direction to contract engineering techs, internal maintenance, and outside contract trades during all aspects of receiving, inventory, kitting, assembly, shipping, preparation or components and sub-assemblies.

C. Modify existing documentation to assist in the completion of drawing packages, machine part lists, illustrations, etc.

Required Skills/Experience


Ongoing Tasks

A. Procure and expedite materials for new or modified equipment.

B. Specify or recommend vendors, and maintain close liaison between vendor and plant.

C. Prepare work orders and direct maintenance personnel and outside contract trades in the fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation of equipment.

D. Create, review, and update part documentation and drawings as required.

Project Tasks:

A. Take personal responsibility for all aspects of supervising equipment kitting, loading/unloading, shipping/receiving crews including direction as needed for Electricians and Mechanics during these activities.

B. Ensure updated documentation exists in assigned areas.

Additional Position Requirements:

Team based in Wilmington, NC. This posting is for a project at the same location. Often contractors that excel and are interested in continuing beyond the initial project may be considered for additional assignments. However, these additional projects may not be located at the same place as the initial posting. Travel requirements will vary based on project locations. International travel may also be possible to support future project needs.

(Hours will vary with no guarantee of OT, but 10-25hrs per week is not uncommon and expected at times)

Education required:

AAS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology (Equivalent work experience may be considered.)

Experience required:

Minimum 5 to 10 years experience

Equipment or software experience preferred:

AutoCAD® 2014, Inventor 2014, Windows7, MS Office suite including Power Point, Excel, Word,

PC based systems, Pneumatic systems and schematics, Automated equipment systems experience

Equipment Used:

A. Personal Computers

B. Equipment used for activities: jacks, dollies, trucks, fork lifts, hand tools, etc.

Personnel Directed By This Position:

Supervise and provide direction to contract engineering techs, internal maintenance, and outside contract trades during scheduled shifts.

B. Electro-mechanical troubleshooting ability, proficient with pneumatic and electrical schematics a plus

C. Thorough understanding of industrial mechanical/electrical components

Work Environment:

This is a warehouse job.


• The attached office area is climate controlled, but most of the time will be spent in the warehouse. It is hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

• It is a warehouse so it is dusty with typical freight related dirty environment.

• Steel toes and safety glasses will be constant all day every day.


• Must be self-motivated, multi-task capable and able to jump from project to project throughout the day as materials are received or sorted for different projects, able to follow directions

• Must be able to work well with other people in a small team as well as internal customers such as tradesmen, engineers, and project managers

• Must be able to lift at least 45lbs to move boxes of materials around when counting, kitting, packaging, sorting, assembling, etc.

• Must be very comfortable with MS Excel used to track incoming and outgoing parts, creating packing lists, searching Bill of Materials, etc.

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings to enable kitting parts to match drawings.
