Senior Carrier Network Engineer
CTG is recruiting for a Senior Telecom Engineer for a permanent full-time position with our Client located in the Minneapolis / St Paul area. You must be willing to work onsite at our Client’s Data Center located in St Louis Park, MN, although some work remote is possible.
This is an opportunity to get to manage and build out a start-up carrier network supported by an existing company with over 30,000 customers. Looking for a candidate that understands the demands and dynamics of meeting SLAs and can manage scheduled vs. emergency maintenance.
This is a hands-on position with the opportunity for the right person to design, build and maintain the final network solution. The position requires almost no travel, and you will be able to occasionally work remote. There is also an opportunity to manage a growing staff.

Required skills include:
Experience with MPLS, VPLS, Ethernet Private Line, Switched Services or EVPL, Wavelength, Pseudowire, Broadband and Dedicated Internet
Knowledge on routing platforms from Cisco and Brocade
a. ISR, ASR, Nexus – Cisco
b. MLX, CER – Brocade
Knowledge, of Software Defined Networking, and SD WAN
a. SD WAN – Cisco iWAN, Talari, Meraki, Silverpeak, Viptela, etc…
b. SDN – general concepts of white box routing
c. NFV – understanding of network function virtualization
d. Open Dayiight is a plus
3-5 years of MPLS, Ethernet and Wavelength experience at a telecom carrier
Knowledge on Service Level Agreements
a. Supporting them
b. Documenting process
c. Monitoring and managing to an SLA
d. Experience with critical uptime and redundancy
Knowledge of these routing protocols – Most important
a. Routing Information Protocols (RIP)
b. Interior Gateway Protocol (IGRP)
c. Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
d. Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP)
e. Enhanced interior gateway routing protocol (EIGRP)
