TFS Build Automation Engineer

Computer Task Group (CTG) is seeking a TFS Build Automation Engineer for a 6 month W2 contract opportunity with our premier client. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software, and/or the installation and maintenance of purchased systems software, as well as the configuration and support of hardware systems across sites.

Project Location: Rochester, Minnesota

Project Duration: 6 months W2 contract

Position Overview:

  • Regularly reviews applications and makes modifications and/or updates to ensure currency and functionality within established environment

  • Maintains and supports multiple systems or complex software applications and their associated hardware at multiple sites

  • The TFS Build Automation Engineer produces and maintains documentation such as system requirements, designs, resource inventories, and plans

  • Provides technical and project leadership to other staff members, demonstrates initiative, and works independently as needed to accomplish responsibilities

  • Applies effective system design principles and software development methodologies

  • Possesses a high level of project and deliverable consistency through demonstrated repeatable and reliable performance

  • Must have ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and have had exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in TFS Build and deploy automation

  • Experience building TFS extensions is required

  • Experience using TFVC & GIT within TFS

  • Strong scripting and programming skills using JavaScript/Typescript, .Net, Java, and PowerShell

  • Strong background in using multiple operating systems (Windows, Red Hat Linux)

  • Basic IT knowledge of hardware and software systems

  • Project management and problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills

  • Strong command of English language both written and spoken

  • Proven abilities to leverage their existing skills toward process and system automation

  • Experience supporting multiple web technologies (IIS, Tomcat, WebSphere) are preferred
