Job Title: Automation Equipment Engineer

Project Duration: Contract, 6 months

Project Location: Keller, TX

Work Hours: 8 to10 hours/day, generally Monday to Friday 8am-5pm; 40-50 hours/week. Must be able to support a 24/7 operation

Summary of Duties

Work with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering related problems

Support/lead continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions, and cost reduction projects

Support drive of fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives

Day to Day Responsibilities

Provide engineering-level production support to manufacturing operation

Solve process and equipment issues through data analysis, experimentation and collaboration with SMEs

Provide engineering expertise for fundamental understanding of manufacturing issues

Provide trend analysis of key metrics and implement response plans

Lead/support projects involving cost reduction, process optimization, and new products/processes

Actively engage in plant safety initiatives and projects

Recommend/implement improvements to processes and equipment

Identify chronic issues and recommend corrective actions

Provide leadership/support for startup of new equipment processes

Develop and update engineering and operations documentation

Provide training for operations workforce regarding equipment or operations changes

Required Education / Experience:

BS or MS in the following Engineering Disciplines: Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

Prefers GPA 3.0 or better from ABET-accredited or equivalent institution

Minimum of 5 to 7 years ofcurrentexperience in a manufacturing environment

Required Skills (MUST have to be considered)

Must have strong data collection and analysis skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong communication and presentation skills

Ability to work effectively on all levels of an organization

Use scientific method and engineering principles to solve problems thoroughly and effectively, using well-designed and executed processes

Strong data analysis and statistical skills

Experience with Access, Excel, Minitab…

Experience with experimental design

Thoroughly carry assignments to completion

Use of KT or equivalent problem solving tools/methods

Desired Skills(First 4 highly desired, will be given preference in hiring decision)

Green Belt is preferred

Project Management experience is also preferred

Experience working with industrial automation equipment will be a major plus

Familiarity with PLCs and Vision Systems also a plus

Drive for root cause fundamental understanding and permanent solutions

Soft Skills

Ability to work within a team and provide training to others

Ability to manage resources to accomplish goals
