W2 Only. No CORP-TO-CORP OR 1099.

Pay Rate: $42/hr on W2 (No Benefits)


Travel Requirements: 15-25% between Wilmington and Concord facility

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Monday to Friday, normal 8am to 5pm, 8-10 hours/day; 40-50 hours/week.

Scope of Position:

Position will serve as a mechanical resource for Division Engineering based in client's Concord, NC facility with travel to Wilmington, NC facility.

Main responsibility is to function as mechanical lead on project to redesign and add functionality to existing manufacturing equipment.

Job functions include:

Specify components (i.e. piping, fittings, pumps, heaters) and integrate into existing mechanical system

Design fabricated components as needed utilizing Inventor or AutoCAD

Obtain quotes and order components

Revise equipment drawings

Oversee assembly of prototype system with some opportunity for hands on work

Debug and resolve issues on system commissioning

Work closely with cross functional engineering team including IT, process and electrical engineers

Update equipment documentation at the completion of project

Required Education:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree

Required Years and Area of Experience: 2 (can include relevant co-op and/or internship experience)

Required Skills:

Experience with mechanical system design and integration

Ability to generate or modify mechanical models/drawings primarily using Inventor (or similar 3D CAD software) and some AutoCAD

Knowledge and application of drafting standards

Ability to work with machine shops/vendors to complete part procurement

Experience with mechanical system troubleshooting including pneumatic controls, flow control, material handling, etc.

Experience managing mechanics/electricians for equipment assembly and installation

Desired Skills:

Experience with raw material and process gas piping/handling design

Experienced in electrical system troubleshooting including low and medium voltage systems, PLCs, temperature controls safety systems, etc

Working knowledge of data analysis techniques using Microsoft Excel, Pi and Access

Works well with other disciplines (IT, electrical, and process engineering) to fully understand manufacturing system functionality and design requirements.

Experience working in a manufacturing floor or construction environment, with a strong focus on job site safety.

Proactive regarding safety.

Seeks to identify and correct potential safety or environmental issues before they occur.
