CTG is hiring for one of its premier client role of Network Support Installation Engineer inColumbia, MD for a6 month contract assignment.
Essential job functions:
This position requires strong organizational skills, time management skills, and short and long term planning / scheduling.
The Electromechanical Designer holds overall responsibility for generating and organizing project designs, drawings, equipment layouts, schematics, diagrams, bracketry and Bills of Materials.
The successful candidate will provide efficient and timely delivery of project materials.
Additionally this individual will participate in field installation of equipment onto Mass Transit vehicles. Domestic travel up to 40%. International travel is possible.
Essential Job Functions:
Overall responsibility for the design and generating all documentation related to product hardware design and integration into vehicles.
Documentation to be generated includes but is not limited to mechanical drawings, schematics, wire / cable diagrams, layouts, Bills-of-Material, assembly procedures
Work with project engineers on new designs and modifications of existing designs
Interact with other departments as needed to ensure accurate and effective documentation prior to beginning production.
Follows procedures to ensure changes that occur in the field are documented and incorporated in future production.
Cable drawings created from the Installation layout drawing and schematic. Cable drawings require BOMs and length tables.
Capable of sheet metal design that includes modification to existing brackets and design of installation bracket as needed a plus.
Create and modify assembly/layout drawings as needed for production.
Module modifications and design along with assembly/installation drawings to be used during field installation
Equipment layout drawings
Assembly BOMs put into the drawing. The designer is expected to select common components such as screws, bolts, terminal blocks etc.
Works with vendors on any drawing issues.
AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD, Excel , MS Word and email is required (experience with other 2D / 3D software packages will be considered) Education:
BSEE / BSME desired but other education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree with a minimum 2 years related Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical drafting / design experience.
The ideal candidate’s skills:
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills. Driven to succeed.
Strong background in mechanical design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.
Understanding of Vehicle component wiring a plus.
